WARRIORS OF THE APOCALYPSE /
Bryan is a prolific artist and influential spirit who was one of the original artists of the Pilsen Art Nation. He originally focused on painting but has evolved into a master found-art sculptor. He initially assembled found objects as hanging wall art – but has now found himself in the trenches of a new world – creating found-object warrior sculptures. Bryan’s “Warriors of the Apocalypse,” bring life from urban decay and symbolic nostalgia. They are an extension of his imagination and perceptions – each having a unique objective and a common purpose – to serve and save humanity from the evils of our species.
Knowing there was something magical with these sculptures, we set out to design a promotional book that mirrored the ideas, aesthetics and purpose of each individual warrior. We held two four-day photo shoots with fellow photographers of Sandro – Aaron Fulnecky and Ben Pegram – and with the support of their stunning imagery, began designing. We approached the design with a single goal – to infuse each spread with the same level of conceptual thinking as the works depicted. We evaluated physical characteristics like color and shape. We found inspiration through historical design movements like Dadaism. We built styles to depict the warriors objectives and essence. And through maximalistic design, we set out to recreate the over-whelming impact and feelings the sculptures evoke.
